Best Posts

Start here. The handful of posts that best capture what Bar Bruhis writes about: building Boostcous and KnoCommerce, the founder lessons earned along the way, and the personal stories behind it all. If you read nothing else, read these first.

Boostcous

Everything about Boostcous, the food brand I launched on my 35th birthday. Origin story, recipes, product updates, and the full-circle moments that come with building something from nothing. "The Full Circle Moment Five Years Later" goes back to where it started. Five years ago, I moved in with a 70-year-old stranger from Facebook into her trailer. That context makes the rest of the story make sense.

DTC

My DTC (direct-to-consumer) posts cover career lessons, industry takes, and the people doing interesting work in e-commerce. I've been in this space since 2015, and I have opinions. "Why Careers Are Circular, Not Linear" started on a hotel napkin last week. I drew out the pattern I keep seeing in my own career and other people's, and it resonated.

  • Why Careers Are Circular, Not Linear : Bar maps how KnoCommerce, his DTC podcast, Boostcous, and DTSki each feed the others. One connection with Chad from Gruns compounded across all four.
  • Dylan's CRO Book Is Finally Here : Bar recommends Dylan's CRO book: $5B in online revenue, two e-commerce exits, audit checklists, landing page swipe files, and video training included.
  • 10 Years in DTC: Lessons I Wish I Knew in 2015 : Bar Bruhis shares 10 hard-won lessons from a decade in DTC: consistency, speed, curiosity, and community for anyone building or considering the space.
  • I Bought DTSki.com! : Bar bought DTSki.com and is expanding the annual DTC ski event in Aspen. He runs it to learn from great operators and because it is genuinely fun.
  • The AppLovin Report Hedge Funds Wanted (Now Free) : Bar published the AppLovin report 20 hedge funds wanted, for free. Covers incremental sales, platform growth, click vs. survey data, and demographics.

General

Personal essays, health, founder reflections, and the stuff that doesn't fit into Boostcous, DTC, or KnoCommerce. The unfiltered version of what's on my mind. "The Year I Had Everything and Lost Myself: A Founder's Truth About Balance" starts with something people don't say enough: success and suffering aren't opposites. They can happen at the same time.

KnoCommerce

Posts about KnoCommerce, the survey platform I'm building. Product launches, team stories, milestones, and what's happening behind the scenes. "Our New Feature Generated 20 Leads Before Launch" is about one update that brought in 20 qualified leads in a single week. Before we even launched it properly. "Introducing KNO's Survey Digest Email" is a feature I'm excited about. I am so stoked for people to start using this.
