Building the Flywheel

I’m the GM at KnoCommerce, where we help Shopify brands understand where their customers actually come from through post-purchase surveys. We work with over 6,500 brands, and the data keeps surprising us. Mobile game advertising is now taking real share of wallet for some of our customers, which led us to partner with AppLovin’s Axon Ads Manager. It’s a channel that nobody was talking about two years ago, and now it’s impossible to ignore.

One thing that drives me crazy is seeing 8- and 9-figure brands running post-purchase surveys from 2014. Tiny fonts, clunky formats, buried after the order confirmation. That’s business-defining data being left on the table. We’re building tools to fix that.

Alongside Kno, I launched Boostcous, a protein-packed couscous brand. I launched it on my 35th birthday after two years of making batches in my kitchen on nights and weekends. It’s 20g of protein, 11g of fiber, gluten free, and ready in five minutes. We got featured on the front page of the Aspen Times, which was a full circle moment considering I moved to this valley five years ago and my first home here was a stranger’s trailer I found on Facebook.

I wrote about how careers are circular, not linear. Kno feeds the podcast. The podcast feeds Boostcous. Boostcous makes me a better product builder at Kno. And once a year, I bring operators together at DTSki in Aspen. Every piece feeds the next.

Mountain Life

I live in Carbondale, Colorado, about 30 minutes from Aspen. When I’m not building software or shipping couscous, I’m mountain biking, skiing, rafting, or hanging out with my girlfriend Meghan and our dog Banjo. 2025 was a year of extremes. I broke my back, spent three months on crutches, and learned the hard way that founder mode and human mode need to coexist. I’m working on that balance now, and it’s going better than it was.
